Gynaecological consultation

The basic appointment: what you come to say, a clinical examination if needed, and clear answers.

The gynaecological consultation is the starting point for everything else: time to listen, a clinical examination when one is needed, and an explanation of what is found. It covers a routine check just as much as a specific symptom - pain, bleeding, discharge, intimate discomfort - with no need to justify the reason for coming.

FAQ

Is a clinical examination compulsory at every consultation?

No. It is decided with you, according to the reason for the consultation. A first consultation can be a conversation and nothing more.

Can I come if I have never had intercourse?

Yes. The consultation adapts to your situation and the examination is chosen accordingly - it is never imposed.

How often should you come?

Once a year when there are no symptoms, more often if particular follow-up is under way. Any new symptom justifies an appointment without waiting for the next one due.
