• Regular screening (cervical smear) remains recommended alongside this
• HPV typing and screening for sexually transmitted infections are recommended
• HPV vaccination helps prevent infection by the main virus types responsible

Does laser treatment hurt?

It is performed under local anaesthetic, which limits discomfort during the procedure.

Can the warts come back?

A recurrence remains possible, as the virus can persist in the surrounding tissues; follow-up is recommended.
