Surgical reconstruction of the hymen.
Hymenoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to reconstruct the hymen, in particular after a traumatic rupture or in certain personal and cultural situations. It is a long-lasting procedure, performed in the operating theatre, and is to be distinguished from hymenorrhaphy. It requires clear information and an individual assessment.
Hymenoplasty is a long-lasting surgical procedure, performed in the operating theatre; hymenorrhaphy is a quicker procedure, performed in the clinic, with a temporary result.
The appearance of the hymen does not allow one to determine a person's sexual history, and the procedure does not necessarily guarantee bleeding during intercourse. However, it does ensure the reconstruction of a new hymen by recreating a ring of tissue around the vaginal opening, where the hymenal tissue was previously absent, incomplete, or discontinuous.
Confidentiality throughout your care, from the consultation to the follow-up, is a priority of the practice.
