Vaginoplasty

Tightening of the vaginal walls, after childbirth or a loosening of the tissues.

Vaginal tightening surgery, or vaginoplasty, is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce the diameter of the vagina and to strengthen the vaginal and perineal tissues. It may be offered where there is a sensation of laxity, particularly after childbirth or with age, with the aim of improving comfort and, in some patients, sexual function. It is usually combined with perineoplasty. Performed as a day case, under local anaesthetic.

FAQ

How long does healing take?

Superficial healing generally takes a few weeks; the final result is assessed later, once the tissues have settled.

Does the procedure affect a future pregnancy?

Pregnancy remains possible after a vaginoplasty; it is discussed during the consultation, particularly if it is being considered in the near future.
